Your Talk Tells on You

Psalm 19:14 says, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer”.
Through the Holy Spirit the “Sweet Psalmist of Israel”, David, shows us something truly remarkable. The Spiritual truth illumined to us is this: We cannot separate the words of our mouth from the meditation of our heart. What you and I will meditate upon in our heart WILL come out in the words of our mouth! David asked that his words AND his meditation be received by God, his Strength and Redeemer. David knew that the things he thought upon would find their way out into what he would say…O convicting truth!
Someone once said, “Whatever is in the well of your heart will come up in the buckets of your speech”. This person must have understood Psalm 19:14! Do we? Do we understand that our speech in many instances tells on us? What we mostly talk about is what we most likely have been meditating upon, having dwelt or contemplated on that something. Upon what lately has your mind been feeding? To find out that answer, just listen to what you are saying!
